Fake emails, real losses
Throwaway inboxes and nonsense addresses are the first sign of an order that never gets paid for or picked up.
Orders from places you don't ship
Bots and resellers test your checkout from regions outside your markets. You find out after the label is printed.
The same refuser, again
Cash-on-delivery customers who cancel or refuse come back under a new order. Shipping fees go both ways.
One score per order. You decide what happens next.
Every order is scored 0–100
The moment an order lands, the engine checks the email, address, countries, order velocity and the customer's history, and adds up a score with the reasons attached.
Flagged and tagged automatically
At 40 an order is flagged, at 70 it's tagged risk:high. The result is written to Shopify's own order risk panel, and both thresholds are yours to tune.
Risky orders wait for you
Turn on auto-hold and high-risk orders get a fulfillment hold. Nothing ships until you review it and mark it reviewed.
An AI fraud analyst reviews the orders that deserve one.
Rules catch the obvious. For everything borderline — orders scoring 30 or more — an AI fraud analyst re-reads the signals and returns its own score with a one-line explanation, written straight onto the order. It can raise a score, but it never acts alone: holds and cancellations stay yours.
Signals that actually predict a bad order.
Disposable-email detection
Checks every customer email against a list of 121,000+ throwaway domains, plus gibberish and random-digit local parts.
Country rules & Geo-IP
Allow only the countries you sell to, and catch orders where the buyer's IP country doesn't match the shipping address — looked up locally, no data sent anywhere.
Block lists
Emails, IP addresses, phone prefixes or whole countries you never want to hear from again score 100 on sight.
Gibberish address & phone checks
Spots shipping lines typed by bots or mashed keyboards, and phone numbers that are invalid or from the wrong country.
Repeat-offender radar PRO
Multiple orders from the same email, IP or phone within the hour raise the score — and customers with cancelled orders behind them get caught on the next attempt.
Insights & daily digest PRO
Trends, top risk reasons and risky countries, plus a morning email of everything that got flagged overnight.
Test a rule before it touches a real order.
Type in a made-up order — email, phone, IP, countries, total, past cancellations — and score it with the real engine and your real settings. Nothing is saved. Tune thresholds until the results look right, then switch them on.

Questions
Does it replace Shopify's own fraud analysis?
No — it works alongside it. Shopify's risk level is one of the inputs, and Order Risk Guard adds the signals Shopify doesn't check, like disposable emails, country rules and repeat refusers.
Will it cancel orders on its own?
Never. It flags, tags and — if you turn auto-hold on — places a fulfillment hold. Every decision stays with you.
How does the AI second opinion work?
When an order scores 30 or higher on the rule engine, paid plans ask an AI fraud analyst for a second judgment. Only minimized, pseudonymous signals leave the app — email domain, country codes, yes/no signal flags and order totals — never your customers' names, street addresses or full email addresses. AI can add points to a suspicious order's score, with its reasoning shown on the order.
Does the AI ever act on its own?
No. The AI is an advisor, not a decision-maker: it can raise a score and explain why, but holds, tags and cancellations follow the same thresholds you set — and you make every final call.
Can I try it without real orders?
Yes. Load sample orders to see the dashboard filled in, or use the risk playground to score made-up orders with your settings.
How am I billed?
Through your Shopify invoice — there's no separate account or card. Every plan shares the full scoring engine; the quotas are 150 orders a month on Free, 500 on Pro and unlimited on Growth, each with a free trial on the paid plans.
