These terms ("Terms") govern your use of Order Risk Guard ("the app"), a Shopify app operated by Betatech ("we", "us"). By installing the app on your Shopify store you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't install or use the app.
1. The service
The app scores your store's incoming orders for fraud risk (the "Service"): it assigns each order a score from 0 to 100, writes the result to the order in your Shopify admin, tags orders, and — when you enable it — places fulfillment holds on high-risk orders.
The Service is decision support, not fraud prevention. Scores are heuristic estimates based on the signals described on our website. We don't guarantee that any score is correct, that fraudulent orders will be caught, or that legitimate orders won't be flagged. Every fulfillment decision remains yours.
On Pro and Growth, orders that trip the rule engine also receive an AI-generated second opinion (an automated assessment from a large language model, subject to monthly caps — 100 reviews on Pro, 1,000 on Growth). AI assessments are automated suggestions: model behavior can change as providers update their models, assessments can be wrong, and they never replace your review. Only minimized, pseudonymous order signals are sent to the AI provider, as described in our Privacy Policy.
2. Plans and billing
- Free plan — $0. Risk scoring for up to 150 orders per rolling 30-day window.
- Pro — $9.99 per 30 days, with a 7-day free trial. Up to 500 scored orders a month plus the full Pro feature set, including an AI second opinion on suspicious orders (100 AI reviews a month).
- Growth — $29.99 per 30 days, with a 14-day free trial. Unlimited scoring, everything in Pro with 1,000 AI reviews a month, priority support and upcoming COD features.
Paid plans are billed through your Shopify account as an app subscription — charges appear on your Shopify invoice. A trial converts into a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends. You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from the Plans page in the app; changes take effect immediately and Shopify handles proration. Uninstalling the app cancels your subscription.
Prices are in USD and exclude any taxes Shopify may add. We may change prices with reasonable notice; changes won't affect your current billing period.
3. Your account and responsibilities
- You must have a Shopify store in good standing to use the app.
- You are responsible for configuring thresholds, country rules and block lists, and for reviewing held orders. The app never cancels orders on its own.
- You are responsible for having a lawful basis for processing your customers' personal data, and for disclosing fraud screening in your own privacy policy where required.
- You may not use the app for any unlawful purpose, or attempt to reverse engineer, resell, overload or interfere with the Service.
4. Data protection
We process order data on your behalf as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. The app implements Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks, so customer and shop data can be requested and deleted through Shopify's standard flows.
5. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep the Service available and scoring in near real time, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". Shopify outages, webhook delays, third-party data changes and AI provider availability can affect results. We may add, change or remove features; for material changes that reduce core functionality on a paid plan, we'll give reasonable notice.
6. Support
Support is available at [email protected]. Growth plan merchants get priority response times.
7. Termination
You can stop using the app at any time by uninstalling it from your store. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that create risk or legal exposure for us or Shopify. When the app is uninstalled, your subscription ends and, following Shopify's redaction process, we delete your shop's data.
8. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these Terms, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores will accurately identify fraudulent orders.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost shipments. Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim arose (or, if you're on the Free plan, USD 50).
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated. Material changes to paid plans will be communicated in advance.
11. General
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable at the operator's principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms, plus the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the app.
